  • Magnetic Flow meter

The Magnetic flowmeter is known as an electromagnetic flow meter or more commonly just called a mag meter.is very famous after the turbine flow meters and a positive displacement flow meter.  A magnetic field is applied to the metering tube, which results in a potential difference proportional to the flow velocity perpendicular to the flux lines.
A magnetic flowmeter is a volumetric flow meter which does not have any moving parts and is ideal for wastewater applications or any dirty liquid which is conductive or water-based. Magmeter will generally not work with hydrocarbons, distilled water, and many non-aqueous solutions). A magnetic flowmeter is also ideal for applications where low-pressure drop and low maintenance are required.
Magnetic flowmeter uses Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction to determine the flow of liquid in a pipe. In a magnetic flow meter, a magnetic field is generated and channeled into the liquid flowing through the pipe.
Following Faraday’s Law, a flow of a conductive liquid through the magnetic field will cause a voltage signal to be sensed by electrodes located on the flow tube walls. When the fluid moves faster, more voltage is generated. Faraday’s Law states that the voltage generated is proportional to the movement of the flowing liquid. The electronic transmitter processes the voltage signal to determine the liquid flow.

There are some specific things to note when choosing electromagnetic flow meter are
    • Is the fluid conductive or water-based?
    • Is the fluid or slurry abrasive?
    • Do you require an integral display or remote display?
    • Do you require an analog output?
    • What are the minimum and maximum flow rate for the flow meter?
    • What are the minimum and maximum process pressure?
    • What are the minimum and maximum process temperature?
    • Is the fluid chemically compatible with the flow meter wetted parts?
    • What is the size of the pipe?
    • Is the pipe always full?

    Kind of Magnetic Flow Meter

    iMAG Series Magnetic Flow Meters

The iMAG-Series is the most economical flanged electromagnetic flowmeter on the market. It is used in 3” to 12” pipe in municipal or industrial water, waste or reclaimed water, pump stations and packaged plant applications. The iMAG has no moving parts and electrodes are designed to discourage fouling. This magmeter requires

The WMP-Series is a full-bore, plastic-bodied electromagnetic flowmeter designed for flow and usage monitoring applications in 1, 2 and 3-inch pipe. The polypropylene flow tube offers corrosion resistance to a wide range of chemicals and fertilizers. It is lightweight and easy to install or remove from the pipe for inspection*.

    Insertion Electromagnetic Flow Meter

The Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter are adjustable depth insertion magnetic flowmeters that fit 3” to 48” pipe (up to 72” optional). The complete lack of moving parts of the EX800/100/200-Series is the source of its reliability. Brass and stainless steel models withstand a variety of temperature, pressure, and chemical conditions. The EX-Series has no rotor to stop turning in dirty water and there are no bearings to wear out.

The PE202 magmeter is designed for low-flow chemical injection or difficult-to-meter applications with pulsating metering pumps in 3/4” to 1/4” pipe/tube. The housing is made of sturdy splashproof HDPE plastic. With no moving parts, the PE202 can handle fluids containing particulate matter without clogging or jamming,

The FT500-Series is a batching flow processor with additional output controls. It is designed for use with Seametrics flow meters and flow sensors, as well as other manufacturer’s products which have frequency output proportional to flow. In addition to batch functions, the FT500-Series indicates flow rate and other data in large 3/8” (9.66 mm) digits … read more

The FT400-Series flow computers are microcontroller-based

indicator/ transmitters that display flow rate and total and
provide output signals. The FT415 is battery-powered and provides a scalable pulse output. The FT420 is powered by an external DC voltage and has both pulse and 4-20 mA analog outputs.  When the FT420 is being used in the 4-20 mA mode, it is a “two-wire” or “loop-powered” device,

    mag-flux A

An electromagnetic flowmeter for versatile applications Our mag-flux A type of flow sensors are precision measurement devices, suitable for determining the flow rates of nearly any electrically conductive liquid – including substances such as sludge, pulp, and paste.

    mag-flux S

The electromagnetic flowmeter with a flange-less design
Because of its light-weight and compact design, this flowmeter is particularly suitable for applications in plastic pipes without reinforcement. Integrated grounding rings guarantee best measuring results and ensures also a safe connection in steel pipes.

    mag-flux F5

    Electromagnetic flowmeter for small volumes
The mag-flux F5 design is especially suitable for measuring small flowrates and for dosing applications (e.g. food additives or chemicals). This type of electromagnetic flowmeter is available with small inside diameters.

    mag-flux M1

Magnetic inductive flow transmitter with pulsed constant field
The mag-flux M1 was specially designed for use with the mag-flux family of electromagnetic flow sensors. The transmitter is available both in a compact (sensor mounted) and remote (wall mounted) versions.
